Helping the Orphans in China

Most of us are lucky to have a happy life. We can have enough food. We can also have lots of utensils, tools and nice warm clothes. We can even have smart phones and computers. We have a chance to go to school. We can also have clean water and fresh air. We even have loving parents to bring us up and a cozy home.

But in Mainland China, lots of orphans do not have parents. They can not have enough food to eat. They don't have good clothes. They cannot have clean water to drink. Some of them live in orphanages but some of them are homeless. They don't have a safe home. They are unhappy and they live a terrible life.

To help them, we can do a lot. We can raise money for them using ways such as selling flags and selling raffle tickets. They need a lot of things so we can donate food, books, toys and stationery to them. We can also sponsor them and provide them a better living place. If we have time, we can even visit them to know what they need. We can donate money to orphanages so that they can provide safe places for all orphans.

Most of them can help them, so why don't we help the orphans? Every little helps. No matter what you have, everyone should help them and change their lives. If all of us help, there will be fewer orphans in the future.

A Visit to Hong Kong Museum of History

I like visiting museums in Hong Kong. One of my favourite places in Hong Kong in Hong Kong Museum of History. It is in Tsim Sha Tsui. I have been to this interesting place thrice. It has some exhibitions on all floors,  a cafe and a souvenir shop on the first floor.

My most unforgettable experience there is in May 2017. I went there since there was a new exhibition about toys in the past. I went there with my father. First, I saw the exhibition about old toys in Hong Kong. I saw different toys in the past, from the time when Hong Kong was a small fishing village until the exhibition time. We could also try some old toys. It was interesting! Then, I took photos with the sculptures of cartoon characters, such as B.duck and Train Thomas. My father loves Star War characters so he took a lot of photos with them!

After having a delicious lunch in the cafe, I went to see another exhibition about Hong Kong history. I saw a lot of huge models about past in Hong Kong. I also watched a lot of videos and short movies about this theme. I felt ecstatic. Ather seeing the exhibitions, I went home by bus at four in the afternoon.

The trip is very meaningful. I learnt a lot of facts about Hong Kong history in this visit. I am going to visit there soon if there is a new exhibition there.

Note: The exhibition about toys in the past is closed but you can see it in the Hong Kong International Airport.

The Tale of Marcus's Theft

Note: The story is not real. Please do not report to the police due to this. If this reassemble any actual cases, it is due to coincidence.

Yesterday afternoon at a quarter to six, Amanda was in the living room. Her parents needed to work so she was alone. She was doing revision because she would have a test next week.

Suddenly, she heard a loud bang outside and looked through the peek hole. There was a tall man who was walking into her neighbour Marcus house, which was her next door. He stopped for a while before breaking into the house so Amanda could see his face. The thief has a long face with beard, a small mouth and small brown eyes. He was in a black T-shirt and blue jeans. He also carried a big bag.

'Is he a thief? Would he steal my neighbour's valuable things? Would he take away money from my neighbour's safe?' She thought. Amanda looked through the peek hole again. This time, he was looking for some valuable things. He took away Marcus's iPad, computer and iPhone. He broke the safe and took away all the money inside. Then, he put them in his bag.

Amanda was in panic--there were never any thefts in my building in these years, what should be done? She thought for a while and called the police. Two policemen came in ten minutes and caught the thief quickly. The thief not only stole valuable things, such as jewellery from the victim, but also destroyed Marcus's furniture. Marcus was very thankful to her afterwards and gave her a pen as a present.

The Adventure of Dizzy

Once upon a time, there was a fiecre white dog called Dizzy. It was hungry but its owner didn't give him any food, so it left its doghouse. It ran into the forest and found a piece of juicy meat near a tree. It looked delicious. Is was delighted and it ran quickly back home to enjoy it.

On the way, it crossed a narrow long bridge. On the bridge, it saw another dog with a piece of meat. Actually, it was its reflection but the dog didn't know and thought it was a dog looked like it. It also wanted to get its meat so it was eager. Therefore, it barked at the reflection but its meat dropped into the water. It was disappointed and ran back to its doghouse.

Its owner, Paul, found Dizzy and ran to it. He shouted, 'Why did you go away? I was very worried about you!' Dizzy was sad and thought, 'Why did I go out? If I didn't go out, I will not lost my food or got punished by my owner.' It learnt that it should not be greedy. It was a bad day for Dizzy.

A Journey to the Past

In January, I got a time machine from a fairy in the future. I travelled to the time when my father was six.

Then, I found I was in my father"s house. He had many brothers and sisters. Most of them were older than my father. Although there were many people in the house, I still found my father easily because of a photo of him.

He could get dressed, tie shoelaces and have a bath by himself. He couldn't wash his hair, make breakfast or bake a cake by himself. Therefore I taught him how to wash his hair by himself and he learnt it quickly. What a clever boy! Then I taught him to play Chinese chess but he often lost.

After that, we left home and played hopscotch on the hill where he lived. We also played hide-and-seek and rock-paper-scissors. When we were playing hide-and-seek, he twisted his ankle. Fortunately, it wasn't painful.

Finally, we went to a toy shop and I bought a set of Chinese chess for him. He also gave me a robot. Then, I went home. When I went back home, I told my father that I saw him when he was six. He was shocked but he didn't believe me. Therefore I showed the robot. My father was surprised. Then, he played with the robot again! I guess although he is fifty now, he still remembers his happy childhood.

In my Spare Time

In my spare time, I like to do many activities. For example, I like to read books and write passages.

I like reading because I can learn a lot from the books. I always read books and read them every day. I like to read books in libraries because they provide quiet places and a lot of books to read. If I can't read books in my spare time, I may be bored so I have a habit of bringing a book before going out. I have very few friends so I read myself. I prefer reading Chinese books than English ones. I get good grades at school because of my reading habit.

I also like writting passages because writing can help me to tell others my opinions and views. I sometimes write passages because of others' request, but mostly I write because of my interest. I write a wide range of passages such as stories, book reviews and autobiographys. I enjoy writing very much so I put my passages in my blog. If you want to see more passages, we are welcome to provide you more.

I like my activities but I want to develop more interest in Music or PE. I hope I have more chances to play sports.

My Terrible Experience at a Restaurant

Last month, my family went to a restaurant called Earth Restaurant. It was very famous in Tai Koo.

After we arived at the restaurant, we waited for half an hour to wait for three seats. After waiting, we started ordering food. I ordered a bowl of soup noodles with dumplings and a mango pudding. My mother ordered a dish of spaghetti with mushrooms. It was the most popular dish in this restaurant. My father ordered a dish of beef curry which was his most favourite.

We waited for fifteen minutes to get the food. I found a fly in my soup noodles and no mangoes in the pudding. My mother said, 'Ew! My spaghetti is very salty!' Dad also said that he found something awful in his curry and it was too spicy. Then, we found no napkins on the table. We asked a waiter for napkins but he replied us rudely. 'Get them yourselves!' he said. We looked for them everywhere and it wasted us a lot of time. After that, we asked another waiter to take our bill to us. We found that it was five thousand dollars!

We left the money on the table and ran away immediately. I will never go to this restaurant again!

Note: The restaurant and the experience are not real.

Mr.Bean's Chinese New Year in Hong Kong

During Chinese New Year, people always get together and celebrate the festival. This year, Mr.Bean went to Hong Kong to celebrate Chinese New Year for three days. He was really looking forward to the trip.

On the day before Chinese New Year, he set off to Hong Kong by plane. When the plane landed in Hong Kong, he slept against the exit door and blocked off it. The air hostess was confused but she could only wait until he woke up. The plane was delayed for four hours.

On the first day of Chinese New Year, he went to a Chinese restaurant for lunch. He didn't know how to eat dim sum so he used knives and forks to eat them but they kept falling off his fork. He even tried to use his mouth to eat them! He made a mess so a waiter told him to use chopsticks but Mr.Bean did not know how to use chopsticks so the food kept falling on the floor. Mr.Bean couldn't eat anything so he left the restaurant. At night, he went to Tsim Sha Tsui yo see a parade. In the parade, he played up and went into the parade venue to sing and dance with the performers. The audience laughed because of his amusing movements.

On the second day of Chinese New Year, he ate rice cakes for breakfast. Since he hadn't eaten rice cakes before, he used his mouth to eat them and the crumbs fell onto the floor. It was really messy. In the afternoon, he went shopping. He bought a lot of things such as tins of biscuits and lots of clothes. When he was paying the cashier, he realised that he had not brought any money with him! He could only use his golden ring to pay the money. Then, he took all the things in the shop and ran away. The cashier did not stop him since the ring was very expensive. At that night, he went to see fireworks on a ship in Victoria Harbor. During the show, he thought the fireworks were real flowers and tried to catch them. Therefore, he fell into the water and got all wet. People laughed at him but he didn't notice.

On the third day of Chinese New Year, he went to see the lion dance. When the lions were dancing, he roared at the lion since he thought the lions were wild animals. After the dance, he got stuck in the lion and danced through the streets. At night, he left Hong Kong and ended his funny journey.

In his journey, he got into a lot of trouble but he got away fourtunately every time because everyone thought he was hilarious. He was pleased with the trip and he hoped that he could go to Hong Kong next year.
