Run of the Life

What a great life, being powerful and known,

To stand forever out of the public.

The only jail securing favours is broken,

I paid my price, and get my fame.

I shall not take a silent blue pill,

Even a sprinkle of colour can let beauty the tone.

Photos black and white, they might be,

But each gaze back with a different tale.

Waking up to the changing news,

Text in a different font, sized with an odd taste.

Mocking my rivals vicious in manner,

Doing things that might annoy, yet I enjoy.

Feeling the same today, but also feeling different.

Another friend is praised, with another reason.

A lesson is taught, hidden but important,

When my strange sprinkle let beauty the tone.

It’s All in the Heavens

It’s all in the heavens, they always claim.

The power you desire, the might you request,

Are all in the heavens, they claim to me.

It’s all from the heavens, they always suggest.

The morals you follow, the gifts you receive.

Are all from the heavens, they suggest to me.

It’s all in the heavens?

I here must ask.

It’s all from the heavens?

I here must question.

For if it’s true there’s no reason to thrive,

Except for reaching the heavens.

Seeing the boatloads of treasures,

I here must disagree.

It’s not all in the heavens, I shall say.

The relations we build, the knowledge we seek,

The efforts we achieve, the legacy we leave,

Are from our earthly lives, I say to all.

Fate

There are forces we cannot understand,

That we can hardly comprehend.

Some sought it to no avail,

Yet some have it thrust upon them.

It is a thing tricky and fickle,

Only bestowed and never founded.

It ties the strings and weaves the fabric,

Moments twist and turn for all.

A lucky draw can make things fine,

A sudden collapse can revert it all.

No one knows the reason why,

It just happens and that’s all we know.

If only I have a grasp of the scissors,

To change and reduce grief and regret.

But I cannot, yet I shall not weep,

As I find a needle and thread my way.

Madness Does Not Die

In the past the popular suggest,

And the crowd blindly follow.

Yet after information has tested,

The madness does not die.

The powerful runs wild.

Manipulation is their puppet,

Faking makes them smile,

Thus the madness still thrives.

The simple prefer idleness long.

People agree when ideas born,

Without checking if that is wrong,

So the madness’s life’s sustained.

Today the popular still offer,

And the crowd still blindly obey.

Information does have things to proffer,

But the madness never dies.

A Blue Ball Pen

The article has showed facts clear:

Not two or null, but a single thing;

What sticks to the right is ordinary,

Not a sounding vowel it plans to bring.

Paint it in the shade of calm,

An adjective then guide the way.

Too bad with defective cones,

Some can’t see it in their days.

Next a double meaning caught,

One is spherical, rolling on the floor.

The other combined with the last,

Means an invention dating lores.

Used by students in their chores,

Last is a handy useful tool.

But it also traps in farms,

Though not for those living in schools.

Note: Please comment down below what is your original interpretation of this poem and read others' comments too.

Eat, Work, Sleep, Repeat

Eat, work, sleep, repeat,

In many schedules that is all.

There’s no start nor there’s an end,

There’s few up or down in trends.

They have tried to escape the loop,

Of eat, work, sleep, repeat;

But except few variations,

The cycle never misses a beat.

Sometimes they are scolded or praised,

Subtle changes here and there,

But eat, work, sleep, repeat,

Still goes on eternally.

Mundane things have filled our lives,

But with some differences few knows.

People hope for things unique,

Yet they eat, work, sleep, repeat.

Red A

It’s a ruby, it’s a diamond,
It’s the brightest thing in the island.

Or should I say it’s more than this,

Chased by students to find their bliss.

It’s a prize, it’s a reward,

It’s the most harmonious chord.

When the students find all of it,

They have a reason not to quit.

But it’s a knife, it’s a threat,

It’s a sign that makes them regret.

Thunderous voices accuse annoy,

When the minus taint and destroy.

It’s man-made, it’s self-imposed,

To have the students’ joy disposed.

For it they endlessly chase,

Yet what do they find expect hollow praises?

The Jesters

Jesters are not testers.
They walk, they jump, they dive.

According to all those who pester.

As I am not the jester.

I search, I find, I seek.

And jesters are not finders.

As I am not the jester.

They circle, they follow, they obey…

Jesters are only followers.

I am not the jester.

I think, I question, I discover.

And jesters are not analysers.

I am not the jester.

They speak, they act, they move…

But only due to the demanders.

Greater jesters command the lesser,

And lesser jesters serve the greater.

But I am free from the farce,

As I am not a jester.

The 100th Time I’ve Reflected

To see or not to see, that was the question.
When the tragedy just galloped through my eyes,
Mistakes were revealed under the normal guise.
To see or not to see, that was a question.

To face or not to face, that is a problem.
If I charge at the sea of guilt,
Collapsed are the comfort I just built.
To face or not to face, that is an issue.

To think or not to think, that I have questioned.
Streams of stress will flood the room,
Only remind me of the disturbing doom.
To think or not to think, since then I have questioned.

To weep or not to weep, that will be what remain,
When a single thought sounds only distraught,
At the thought of my decay and rot!

To weep or not to weep, that will be what remain…

Nullified

Someone worked hard on a task.

Eyes glued and brain fixed upon it,

Yet its importance nobody will ask.

Someone worked hard on a task.

But it’s zero and nothing in the flask,

Of the history of all men’s wit.

Someone worked hard on a task,

Eyes glued and brain fixed upon it…

You Have No Reason to Mourn for Me

You have no reason to mourn for me,
You living in peace is my final plea.
I shall be present among your books,
My experiences inspired the tales' hooks.
I shall be present in your speech,
My ideas provided a greater reach.
When you touch minds and spread thoughts,
My rules would help you connect the dots.
When you dwell in each dark dusty night,
My memories fill your despair with light.
Thus through your memories my presence remains,
I am immortal, why shall you be in pain?

Someday I’ll Love Alpha Gauss

I called from the depths for aid,
But even failure would not listen, would not listen…

Alpha, there’s no need to fear.
You have tread the days
Where you fell down between each second dear.

But declined to dust, reduced to rust,
Are those memories you called gold and silver.
Gold and silver, gold and silver?
Wrong! I am nothing but darkness and despair,
When signs silent mark my downfall surely.

Those darkness are absence of attention.
And being the lone, it’s time for us to calm.
As I am you and you are me,
Our minds do convey, our thoughts do message.
Leave those sorrow as the past forgeries,
Or you will not grow and evolve,
To be the compass you will be.

But I’m in the valley, how can I be free?
Learn from the wounds and you should see.
Still I have only wounds, how can I rise?
Gifts yours fill the land and you should see.
Now I have my needs, how can I gain might?
Glimpse the dust and ash and you should see.
I must have the might, but I want the fame!
Prove yourself under moonlight and you should see.
Or do I need to be free? Do I need to rise? Do I need the might? Do I need the fame…

Is life’s a game with treasures I’ve obtained?
Is my mind a weapon that only I can tame?

The Talented’s Monologue

The past leaves me with gifts I have utilised,
But it gives me a curse then I realised.

My powers are fading, going into nothingness,

The things I treasured have become illness.

As I walk on the path I always recall,

Today it takes a turn and I fall.

To the abyss of despair I descend,

To failure I am currently sent.

Oh, I recall the times of silver and gold,

Once I was held high with stories told.

They said that I might thrive as legend,

But what remains today is broken edges.

The story says that phoenixes reborn from ashes,

But tell me, how can I emerge from the crashes?

Perhaps I can only dwell on the past,

In which my mind’s might have often lasted.

It’s a secret, it’s a secret, it’s a secret.

For now I must hide in frequent.

Let them continue their praises to me,

Or to exile I have to flee.

But now what plans shall I devise?

I shall hide in brilliance’s guise.

Such that my knowledge can reign,

So-called glory can they see in my brain.

Can they interpret as talent in my brain…

The Untreated Aggression

After war ruins remained for years,
Still peace was left unsure:
Economic crashes heard by ears,
Yeah no one could find the cure.

The two leaders fled to defend,
The rich resorted to isolate.
Some wanted this to end,
But sowed aggression to their fate.

With fascism the betrayed left conceited,
Trying to gain power from a country poor.
They were warned but not defeated,
Marching to revive the empire rare.

The military suggested to expand,
When the insecure's salary suddenly burst.
The emperor had puppets planned,
With an excuse China was invaded at first.

The losers obeyed and trusted,
With Hitler breaches broken and countries seized.
The machine of peace was since busted,
As a main cog left it uneased.

The axis joined forces to revenge,
But no one stopped them till war emerged.
Who knew countries was doomed to be drenched,
Started when cooperation was never urged?

The Tale of Wordle

When the programmer weaved his lines of code,
Of a humble gambit from day to day.
He had prepared the start of a great ode.

He was lying in his causal mode,
Word battles with his friend they play,
When the programmer weaved his lines of code.

Words and work were links by nodes,
When he heard his friend's dismay.
He had prepared the start of a great ode...

A guessing game to his friend he showed,
"That was such a great strategy ballet!"
Said when the programmer weaved his lines of code.

That simple word game whose favour we owed,
As on the daily track of addiction we stay.
He had prepared, that start of a great ode.

As wordle gone viral we have been told,
How minds have been connected and swayed.
When the programmer weaved his lines of code,
He had prepared the start of a great ode.

Announcement: Rework of Website

During the COVID 19 pandemic, I started to have more time to try out different things, and one of them is poetry. I tried poetry since last 2 months as I think poetry have different forms, and it can inspire other people. Therefore, I posted different types of poems such as limericks and ballads, and I also try to experiment with different types too. Let me know in the comments what do you make of my poems.

Meanwhile, I decided to sort out my passages and added a tag called Earlier Works, as I notice a change in my works in this two months. The new name of this blog would be Writings from Alpha Gauss the Thinker, and the writings would be more focused on discussions of various topics, poetry and science-related articles from now on.  I will also post about once per week, instead of random intervals, unless there are series going on.

I may not be the best, but I try to be the best. As man is never ripen to fully reason: he can only be nearer and nearer, but not entirely. In the meantime, we can only try to expand our limits and inspire each other, to push our reason a bit closer to complete logic each day. And that's what I wish for this blog to be: an inspiration for people to think more logically and differently each day.

Alright, here is the new FAQ, and stay tuned for another post!

Q1: Can you teach us [Insert something that you don’t understand]?
A1: I will teach you if I have time and I am able to do so.

Q2: How can I be good at math?
A2: Don’t just remember the facts. Understand the concepts. I visualise the problem, use my intuition to identify impossible answers (for MCQ) and know the concepts. I also read a lot of books about mental calculation and thus know a lot of methods. The one that I use most of the time is Gelosia.

Q3: What are your strengths and weaknesses?
A3: I am good at most science-related things. I am also helpful to others. However, humanities and social interactions are my Achilles' heel. People also say that I am a bit arrogant.
(P.S. I am an INTJ.)

Q4: Who are your idols?
A4: In terms of mathematics, Karl Friedrich Gauss. In terms of science, Nikola Tesla. Although I would not call them idols as they are people I look up to instead of idolizing. People are idolizing beautiful and charming people all the time, and I prefer not to do so.

Q5: Why is your new pen name Alpha Gauss?
A5: My idol was Karl Friedrich Gauss and I want to express my love for mathematics. Besides, I want to hide my identity, while showing my change of reason. Alpha would be suitable for both female and male logic lovers. So my pen name becomes Alpha Gauss.

Pantoum for the Mathematics Male

There was once a man of numbers,
Who worked in a hotel of endless.
Spas and buffets enjoyed in slumbers,
The Infinite Hotel was one trendless.

He worked in a hotel of endless,
So his mind fought over sums booming.
The Infinite Hotel was one trendless,
Yet it is full: many were even rooming!

So his mind fought over sums booming,
But worst of all a tourist arrived.
Yet it is full: many were even rooming.
Still with the move of all, the hotel survived.

But worst of all a tourist arrived,
Leading a bus larger than the sun.
Still with the move of all, the hotel survived.
But times two this time: that caused the job done.

Leading a bus larger than the sun,
The next customers arrived: but irrationals zero to one.
Times two that time: that caused the job done.
Now it doesn't work, and the boss must run!

The next customers arrived: but irrationals zero to one.
They are not treated, and mourns are heard from far.
The plan doesn't work, and the boss must run!
The hotel must be closed, fleeing the customers are.

They are not treated, and mourns are heard from far,
The boss fires the male, but he can't deal with them.
The hotel must be closed, fleeing the customers are.
The math is unresolved, all due to the dumb.

The boss fires the male, but he can't deal with them.
Spas and buffets not enjoyed in slumbers!
The math is unresolved, all due to the dumb,
Even though there was once a man of numbers.

Note: This is adapted from the Tale of the Infinite Hotel.

Chaotic Supernatural

There was once a goddess of luck,
who by accident becomes a duck.
Tried reverting but failed,
She ran away and wailed,
And now to man fate sudden struck.

There was once a god beguilded,
Who ruled love since he was a child.
One day he was blind,
Arrows shot to mankind,
And now affections go really wild.

There was once a deity night,
Whose fear imposed was her whole might.
Yet then she had fainted,
Her brush madly painted,
And now darkness has won the fight.

The Worst Day Prolonged

As I was thinking what could go wrong,
It arrived as it was told before.
Since it is always mighty and strong.

Days before everything was smooth as song,
And lots of failure was impossible as war.
As I was thinking, what could go wrong.

Yet despair is a rope very long,
Tying to me always on the floor.
Since it was always mighty and strong.

And with every answer I fell into zugzwang,
Success was farer than fairy lore.
As I was thinking what could go wrong!

Then days of stress were yearlong,
Besides they were bound to me, I swore.
Since they were always, mighty and strong...

Scolds beated me in that game of ping pong,
While I was still staring at the sore scores.
As I was thinking what could go wrong?
Since it is always mighty and strong.
